How to fix it

1. Unplug the dryer and allow 10 minutes for capacitors to discharge.
2. Remove the kickplate and inspect the evaporator/condenser fins behind the condenser unit — vacuum gently with a soft brush.
3. Verify the condenser unit and lint filters are clean.
4. Listen at startup — humming with no compressor run suggests capacitor or start relay failure.
5. Test the compressor start capacitor with a meter; replace if out of spec.
6. If refrigerant leak is suspected (oily residue, no cooling at evaporator), call a certified appliance tech — sealed system work is not DIY.
7. If compressor windings test open or shorted, schedule a service call — heat-pump compressor replacement is professional-only.
8. Document model and serial before contacting Bosch service — many heat-pump dryers have extended sealed-system warranties.
