Bosch Oven E202 — Internal Control Fault
Bosch Oven · Error code E202
What E202 Means
The main control board has detected an internal hardware fault — typically a relay driver, EEPROM, or power-stage failure. The oven disables all heating functions.
Symptoms
- Oven won't heat at all
- E202 on power-up or after a few seconds
- Display otherwise normal
- Sometimes paired with burned smell at control
Common Causes
Power surge or age killed the heating relay.
Brownout during a write left config invalid.
Often visible at the relay or terminal area.
Logic rail collapsing under load.
How to Fix It
- Power off at the breaker for 10 minutes; restore and retry once — a soft fault may clear.
- Remove the rear panel and visually inspect the main control for burn marks or bulged capacitors.
- Verify supply voltage to the board is in spec (240 V across the heater feed legs).
- If E202 returns at every power-up, the main control needs replacement.
- Confirm part number against the model tag — Bosch boards are NOT cross-compatible across series.
