E305 — Door Lock / Control Communication Fault

Bosch's official US oven/microwave error-code page documents only E11 (touch keys/condensation) plus generic 'E and a number' catch-alls that instruct disconnecting power and calling Bosch support. A specific 'E305' is not separately documented. The 'door lock / control communication fault' explanation below is not confirmed on Bosch's US consumer page — verify against your model's manual.

How to fix it

  1. Power-cycle the oven at the breaker for 10 minutes.
  2. Confirm the door is fully closed and the gasket isn't pinched.
  3. If the door is still locked, wait 30–60 minutes after a self-clean for the cavity to cool below the lock threshold.
  4. Remove the top trim and reseat the ribbon cable between the UI board and the main control.
  5. Inspect the door latch assembly for binding; manually test the lock motor for free travel.
  6. If lock and wiring are good, replace the door latch assembly; if the code persists, replace the UI board, then the main control.
