F3 — Stuck key on touchpad

F3 indicates the control has detected a key held closed for longer than a set time (typically 60 seconds). Almost always a failed touchpad rather than a user holding a button.

How to fix it

  1. Unplug for 5 minutes — if F3 reappears within ~1 minute idle, keypad is suspect.
  2. Remove the control panel and unplug the touchpad ribbon from the board.
  3. Power on; if F3 does not appear, replace the touchpad assembly.
  4. If F3 still appears with keypad disconnected, replace the control board.
