What DOOR Means

The control sees the door switches in an invalid combination (e.g., monitor switch reports closed while primary reports open). The microwave will not start, by design — interlocks prevent RF leakage.

Symptoms

How to Fix It

  1. Inspect the door for visible sag or play; lift slightly while closing to see if it starts.
  2. STOP USING the microwave if the monitor switch has tripped — there is a risk of running with the door ajar.
  3. Unplug the unit before any switch work — the monitor switch is designed to short the line if the primary fails, blowing a fuse.
  4. Remove the inner door panel and inspect the latch hooks for cracks.
  5. Test each of the three interlock switches for proper open/close continuity with a multimeter.
  6. Replace any failed switch with the exact OEM part (rating matters).
  7. Check the in-line ceramic line fuse — often blown after a monitor switch event; replace if open.
  8. Reassemble, restore power, and verify the microwave only runs with the door fully closed and stops the instant the door is opened.
