LG Microwave EE — EEPROM / control memory error
LG Microwave · Error code EE
What EE Means
The control board cannot read or write its EEPROM (non-volatile memory). Settings and calibration data are inaccessible, so the microwave refuses to operate normally.
Symptoms
- EE on display
- Unit boots straight to the error
- Power-on cycle does not clear it
Common Causes
Power surge or brownout during a write.
Memory IC on main board has died.
Other board-level fault preventing memory access.
How to Fix It
- Unplug for at least 5 minutes; some EE faults clear after a long power cycle.
- Plug back in and observe; if EE persists, the board needs service.
- Service note: this is almost always solved by replacing the main control board.
- Order the exact OEM main control board for your model number (label inside door or on cabinet).
