Air Purifier Not Working or Weak Airflow — Fixes
Air purifiers are simple fan-and-filter devices, so problems usually come down to a clogged filter or a sensor/reset issue. Here's how to get it working again.
1. Replace or Clean the Filter
A clogged HEPA/carbon filter chokes airflow so the purifier blows weakly and barely cleans. Most filters need replacing every 6-12 months (the carbon pre-filter sooner). Some pre-filters are washable — rinse and fully dry. A loaded filter is the #1 cause of weak airflow.
2. Reset the Filter Indicator
After changing the filter, reset the filter-life indicator (usually hold the filter-reset button for a few seconds) — some models reduce performance or flash until you do.
3. Won't Turn On
Confirm power at the outlet. Many purifiers have a safety interlock that won't run unless the filter cover/door is fully closed and latched — reseat it. Check that the filter's plastic shipping wrap was removed (a common miss on new units).
4. Auto Mode / Dirty Sensor
In Auto mode the fan speed follows the air-quality sensor. If the sensor is dusty, it can misread and keep the fan on low (or high). Gently clean the air-quality sensor (a small vent on the side) with a dry cotton swab per the manual.

FAQ
Almost always a clogged filter. Replace the HEPA/carbon filter (every 6-12 months) and reset the filter indicator. Make sure any shipping wrap was removed from a new filter.
Check the outlet, and make sure the filter door is fully closed (a safety interlock stops it otherwise) and the new filter's plastic wrap was removed.
