Microwave Turntable Not Turning — Fixes
A microwave turntable that won't spin is a minor, usually cheap fix — and the food still cooks, just less evenly. Here is how to get it turning again.
1. Reseat the Plate and Roller Ring
Take out the glass plate and the roller ring (the wheeled ring under it). Make sure the plate's center sits properly on the drive coupler and the roller ring is centered in the track. A plate that is off-center or on the wrong coupler just sits there.
2. Clean the Track and Coupler
Food spills and crumbs in the turntable track or around the center drive coupler can jam the rotation. Clean the recessed track and the coupler thoroughly and dry them.
3. Check the Drive Coupler
The plastic drive coupler in the center can wear out or crack so it no longer grips the plate. If it is stripped or broken, it is an inexpensive replacement part.
4. Turntable Motor
If the plate, ring, and coupler are all fine and clean but it still won't turn, the turntable motor (underneath the microwave) has failed. It is a moderate DIY replacement, or you can simply keep using the microwave and stir/rotate food by hand.

FAQ
Usually the plate or roller ring is misaligned, debris is jamming the track, or the drive coupler/turntable motor has failed. Reseat and clean first; if it still won't turn, replace the coupler or motor.
Yes, but food heats less evenly. Stir or rotate it by hand partway through until you fix the turntable.
