Frigidaire Microwave F6 — Line voltage / power supply fault

Frigidaire Microwave · Error code F6

What F6 Means

F6 indicates the control board sees AC line voltage out of spec or a power-supply problem on the board itself. Often appears after a brownout or surge.

Symptoms

  • F6 on display
  • Display flickers
  • Random reboots
  • Appears after power outage or storm

Common Causes

1
Low or unstable house voltage

Voltage sagging below ~108 VAC trips the fault.

2
Failed control board power supply

On-board regulator or capacitors degraded.

3
Loose neutral or hot connection at outlet

Backstabbed receptacle or burnt terminal.

How to Fix It

  1. Unplug for 5 minutes and retry.
  2. Measure the outlet voltage under load — should be 114–126 VAC.
  3. If voltage is low, address the circuit/breaker; do not assume the microwave is at fault.
  4. If voltage is fine and F6 persists, replace the control board.
  5. Have an electrician check the outlet if voltage is unstable.
