Frigidaire Oven · Error code F3

What F3 Means

Older-style code: the EOC sees an open circuit on the oven temperature sensor input. Equivalent to F31 on newer models.

Symptoms

  • F3 at preheat or shortly after
  • Oven heat cuts off
  • Temperature display stuck or wrong

Common Causes

1
Open oven sensor (RTD)

Internal element of the sensor probe has broken.

2
Disconnected sensor plug

Plug at the rear of the EOC has worked loose.

3
Broken sensor wire

Wire severed where it exits the cavity.

How to Fix It

  1. Cut power.
  2. Remove the rear panel; unplug the sensor.
  3. Measure resistance — open = bad sensor.
  4. Replace the sensor and inspect harness routing.
  5. Reassemble and verify F3 is gone before returning to service.
