Frigidaire Oven F4 — Oven Sensor Shorted
Frigidaire Oven · Error code F4
What F4 Means
Older-style fault: the EOC sees a short circuit at the oven temperature sensor input. Equivalent to F31 on newer boards.
Symptoms
- F4 during heat call
- Heat cuts off
- May follow a recent rack movement that pinched the sensor
Common Causes
Internal short in the probe.
Wire grounded against the cavity wall.
Less common — input circuit on the board is bad.
How to Fix It
- Power off.
- Unplug the sensor at the EOC and test resistance — should be ~1080 ohms; near-zero means shorted.
- Inspect the sensor harness behind the cavity for pinch points.
- Replace sensor and/or repair harness.
- If sensor and harness are good, replace the EOC.
