DOOR — Door not fully closed / open too long

Some GE microwaves display 'DOOR' (or 'Door') when the door interlock circuit reports the door open after a cook start, or when the door has been left open with the unit on for an extended period. It's a softer warning than F9 — usually a latching or alignment issue.

How to fix it

  1. Press CLEAR/OFF and firmly close the door. Code should clear immediately.
  2. If it persists, inspect latch hooks for wear, cracks, or missing tips.
  3. Replace the door latch / hook assembly if damaged.
  4. Check the door for sag — adjust or replace hinges as needed.
  5. If the door looks fine, unplug and test the primary door switch for clean open/closed action; replace if intermittent.
