How to fix it

  1. Open and re-close the door firmly until you feel the latch click.
  2. Check that the upper rack and tall items aren't blocking the door from fully shutting.
  3. Power off at the breaker for 5 minutes, then retry.
  4. Remove the outer door panel and inspect the door latch wiring — reseat connectors.
  5. Use a multimeter to test continuity across the door switch with the door closed.
  6. Replace the door latch assembly if the switch fails the continuity test.
  7. If a new latch doesn't clear it, replace the main control board.
