CE — / CF — Control Communication Failure
A communication failure between the main control board and a console/UI board on the Whirlpool/KitchenAid platform is documented as code CF (not CE). If your refrigerator displays this condition, the documented code is CF — verify the exact code on your display and check the wiring/connections between the boards.

Replace your water filter
A clogged or overdue water filter is a common cause of low water and ice flow on KitchenAid refrigerators — they are meant to be changed about every 6 months. The OEM-style filter that fits most KitchenAid refrigerators is the EDR1RXD1 ($40-50 OEM, $15-25 compatible).
