5b — Sabbath Mode active (not a fault)
Not an error code. '5b' (sometimes shown as Sb) on an LG oven display indicates Sabbath Mode is engaged: the oven runs at a fixed setpoint with display, lights, and audible tones disabled per Sabbath observance rules.

How to fix it
- Consult the owner manual for your specific LG range — the exit sequence varies (often hold Clock + a number key for ~3 seconds).
- On many LG models: hold the Clock pad until you hear a beep and 'SAb' or '5b' clears.
- If hold-to-exit does not work, turn the breaker off for 60 seconds; Sabbath Mode does NOT survive a full power loss on most LG models.
- Confirm normal display returns and reset the clock.
Why it happens
Typical signs: 5b or Sb shown on the display · Display does not change with normal button presses · Tones suppressed · Convection fan may not modulate
- Sabbath Mode was activated by holding the right buttons Owner or family member entered the mode intentionally or by accident.
