F3E1 — Oven Temperature Sensor Shorted

The oven temperature sensor circuit is shorted. The control reads an impossibly low resistance and disables heat.

How to fix it

  1. Disconnect power.
  2. Disconnect sensor at the EOC and measure resistance at the sensor leads.
  3. Replace the sensor if it reads near zero.
  4. Inspect the harness routing for pinch points or melted insulation.
  5. If both are good, replace the electronic oven control.

Why it happens

Typical signs: F3E1 displayed · No heating element activity · Code returns immediately after reset

  • Shorted temperature sensor Internal short in the RTD probe.
  • Pinched / shorted sensor harness Sensor wires pinched against cavity insulation or chassis.
  • Failed EOC Control board input is shorted internally.
