How to fix it

  1. Unplug the meat probe and verify the code clears with the probe removed.
  2. Inspect the probe for crushed insulation or a bent connector.
  3. Test the probe resistance per the tech sheet.
  4. Replace the meat probe if out of spec.
  5. If a known-good probe still throws F8E1, replace the probe receptacle or EOC.
