Samsung Microwave C-22 — Cavity Thermistor Open

Samsung Microwave · Error code C-22

What C-22 Means

The cavity (oven) thermistor circuit reads open. The control cannot monitor cavity temperature, so it disables cook cycles.

Symptoms

  • C-22 at start of cycle
  • Cycle aborts immediately
  • No heating

Common Causes

1
Disconnected thermistor harness

Connector vibrated loose at the sensor or main board.

2
Failed (open) thermistor

Sensor element broken internally.

3
Broken wire to thermistor

Often near cavity vents where wires get hot.

How to Fix It

  1. Unplug the microwave.
  2. Access the cavity thermistor (top panel on most models).
  3. Reseat the thermistor connector at both ends.
  4. Measure resistance — should read ~50 kΩ near 25 °C; infinite/open = bad thermistor.
  5. Replace the thermistor with OEM part if open.
  6. If resistance is OK, repair the harness or replace the main control board.
