What F4E3 Means

The control's airflow check failed — the exhaust thermistor is rising too fast or staying too hot, consistent with a clogged vent or lint screen. This is the modern equivalent of the legacy AF code.

How to Fix It

  3. Vacuum the dryer's exhaust port and the entire length of the vent duct.
  4. Inspect and clear the outside vent hood.
  5. Reconnect, run a Timed Dry, and confirm strong airflow at the outside hood.
  6. Avoid using metal screening on the outside hood — it clogs quickly and re-triggers F4E3.
