How to fix it
- Power-cycle: breaker OFF for 5 minutes, then ON.
- Start a Timed Dry and watch for one full minute; many F71 events were one-time glitches.
- If F71 returns, unplug and open the console.
- Reseat the harness between the user interface and the main control board.
- Swap the user interface board if reseating doesn't fix it.
- If still no fix, replace the main control board.
Why it happens
Typical signs: F71 on display · Buttons do nothing · Display frozen or partly working · Cycle won't advance
- Loose UI harness Communication cable between UI and main board is not seated.
- Failed UI board The user interface board has died and the main board is reporting the silence.
- Power-supply glitch Brownout or surge corrupted firmware state and a power-cycle clears it.
