How to fix it

  1. Empty the freezer and force a manual defrost (or unplug 24-48 hours with doors open).
  2. Remove the freezer rear panel and check the evap fan blade spins freely.
  3. Inspect the evaporator coil for heavy frost (points to defrost heater/thermistor — separate failure).
  4. Test the fan: with power applied at the connector, the blade should spin smoothly.
