Symptoms

  • Drain pump runs continuously
  • Cycle will not start
  • Water visible in base pan

Common Causes

1
Leak inside the dishwasher

Door seal, hose clamp, or sump leaking into the base pan.

2
Inlet valve stuck open

Solenoid fails to close, overfilling the tub.

3
Float switch stuck up

Debris under the foam float in the base.

4
Drain restriction

Slow drain causing back-up that triggers the float.

How to Fix It

  1. Power off the dishwasher at the breaker.
  2. Tilt the unit forward gently and let any water in the base pan drain into a towel.
  3. Inspect the base pan for the source of the leak.
  4. Check the foam float in the base for free movement.
  5. Test the inlet valve by listening for it to close at end of fill; replace if stuck.
  6. Restore power and run a Rinse cycle to verify.
