E16 — Unintended water inlet / inlet valve stuck open
Per Bosch's official US error-code page, E16 and E17 are grouped together: there is an issue with water flowing into the dishwasher or the filling system, and water may not be able to enter the dishwasher.

How to fix it
- Shut off the water at the supply valve under the sink.
- Power off at the breaker.
- Drain any water from the tub (run a manual drain or sponge it out).
- Replace the AquaStop inlet hose assembly (contains the safety valve).
- Inspect the tub-side inlet valve and replace if it leaks through.
- Restore water and power; verify no fill occurs with the door open.
