How to fix it

  1. If just entered, wait 30 minutes for defrost to finish.
  2. If dF persists or recurs, unplug refrigerator.
  3. Access evaporator and check for heavy frost (defrost not running) or melted condition.
  4. Test defrost heater for continuity — replace if open.
  5. Test defrost thermostat — should close cold; replace if open at room temp.
