Frigidaire Washer E52 — Bad signal from tachometer on motor
Frigidaire Washer · Error code E52
What E52 Means
The motor's tachometer (speed sensor) isn't sending valid pulses, so the control can't regulate spin speed.
Symptoms
- No spin or weak spin
- Drum spins then stops abruptly
- E52 shortly after spin starts
Common Causes
Two-pin connector at rear of motor unseats.
Open winding in the speed sensor — check 60-150 ohms.
Input circuit can't read the tach signal.
How to Fix It
- Unplug and tip the washer back.
- Reseat the small tach connector at the rear of the motor.
- Measure tach coil resistance — typically 60 to 150 ohms.
- Replace the motor if the tach coil is open.
- Replace the motor control board if tach reads fine but code returns.
