E5E — Communication error between motor control and main board
The user interface / main control isn't talking to the motor controller. The washer can't run the drum without a working comm link.

How to fix it
- Unplug for 5 minutes — clears many transient comm faults.
- Inspect both boards for water staining or corrosion.
- Reseat all harnesses between main control and motor control.
- Measure DC bus voltage at MCU per service sheet.
- Replace MCU first; if code persists, replace main board.
Why it happens
Typical signs: No drum motion · E5E or 5E shortly after Start · Display alive but motor silent
- Loose ribbon or harness between boards Connector backed out from vibration.
- Failed motor control unit (MCU) Surge or moisture damaged the inverter board.
