What EF2 Means

The control detected excessive suds during the wash or rinse. The washer pauses and runs extended rinses to break down foam.

Common Causes

Non-HE detergent used

Standard detergent foams excessively in front-loaders.

Most loads need only 1-2 tablespoons of HE.

Soft water amplifies sudsing

Less detergent is needed in soft water areas.

How to Fix It

  1. Run an extra Rinse & Spin to clear suds.
  2. Switch to HE-rated detergent.
  3. Use 1-2 tablespoons of HE detergent per normal load.
  4. If you have soft water, halve the recommended dose.
