GE Microwave F0 — Communication / no key entry fault
GE Microwave · Error code F0
What F0 Means
F0 indicates a control communication problem, often that the control hasn't seen any keypad activity in a expected window, or that the smart board lost contact with the keypad. Frequently clears with a hard reset.
Symptoms
- F0 in display at idle or right after power-up
- Keypad seems unresponsive
- Code clears briefly with reset
- May appear after a power outage
Common Causes
Logic gets out of sync and needs a clean restart.
Especially after recent service or a bump from above.
Membrane has lost contact with the control.
After keypad and harness are verified.
How to Fix It
- Unplug the microwave (or trip the breaker) for 5 minutes.
- Restore power and watch — if F0 stays away, monitor for repeat.
- If it returns, unplug and reseat the keypad ribbon at the control board connector.
- Replace the keypad if reseating doesn't help.
- Replace the control board if a new keypad still throws F0.
