F0 — Communication / no key entry fault

F0 indicates a control communication problem, often that the control hasn't seen any keypad activity in a expected window, or that the smart board lost contact with the keypad. Frequently clears with a hard reset.

How to fix it

  1. Unplug the microwave (or trip the breaker) for 5 minutes.
  2. Restore power and watch — if F0 stays away, monitor for repeat.
  3. If it returns, unplug and reseat the keypad ribbon at the control board connector.
  4. Replace the keypad if reseating doesn't help.
  5. Replace the control board if a new keypad still throws F0.
