PF — Power failure indicator
PF (sometimes shown as PF or 'POWER FAIL') simply tells you the microwave lost AC power and the clock needs to be reset. It is not a fault — just a notification.

How to fix it
- Press CLEAR/OFF (or CANCEL) to dismiss PF.
- Re-set the clock.
- If PF keeps reappearing without an outage, plug the microwave directly into a known-good outlet (not a power strip) and watch.
- If it still recurs, have an electrician check the outlet and breaker.
Why it happens
Typical signs: PF or '8888' flashing in display after a power outage · Clock shows 12:00 or random time · Cooking otherwise works normally
- Recent power outage or brown-out Normal — the microwave detected loss of line power.
- Loose plug or tripped breaker Same cause as an outage, just local.
- Failing outlet / poor connection Frequent PF events suggest checking the receptacle.
