How to fix it

  1. Power off at breaker for 2 minutes and observe whether PE clears at next start.
  2. Pull the kick plate, locate the pressure switch / sensor, and disconnect its air tube.
  3. Flush the air tube with water and confirm it's not pinched.
  4. Reseat the electrical connector at the sensor and at the main PCB.
  5. Test or substitute the sensor per service-manual values.
  6. If PE persists with a known-good sensor and clear tube, replace the main PCB.

Why it happens

Typical signs: PE displayed early in cycle · Sometimes paired with abnormal fill or drain behavior · Fill phase aborts · Possible flashing of related fill/heat indicators

  • Clogged pressure-sensor air tube Food sludge in the small hose to the sensor distorts readings.
  • Failed pressure sensor Sensor membrane or hall sensor out of calibration.
  • Loose sensor connector Harness backed out at sensor or PCB.
  • Main PCB ADC fault Sensor input channel damaged.
