LG Oven PF — Power failure / power was interrupted

LG Oven · Error code PF

What PF Means

The oven detected that incoming power was interrupted while it was running or holding a clock. Not a hardware fault by itself — it is an alert that you need to reset the clock and verify any in-progress cycle.

Symptoms

  • PF blinking on the display
  • Clock flashing 12:00 or blank
  • In-progress timed bake/clean was canceled

Common Causes

1
Brief utility outage or brownout

Power dropped long enough for the control to lose state.

2
Tripped or reset breaker

Breaker was cycled at the panel.

3
GFCI/AFCI on the circuit tripped

Outlet or breaker tripped from a transient.

4
Loose service connection at the range terminal block

Intermittent contact mimics a power loss.

How to Fix It

  1. Press CLEAR/OFF or Start to dismiss the PF alert.
  2. Reset the clock; restart any cooking cycle that was interrupted.
  3. If PF returns repeatedly with no obvious outage, check the breaker for a loose lug or weak handle.
  4. Verify the range terminal block lugs are torqued and not discolored.
  5. Persistent PF on a known-good circuit suggests a failing main control board.
