Maytag Dishwasher F7E2 — Wash Motor (Circulation Pump) Failure
Maytag Dishwasher · Error code F7E2
What F7E2 Means
The main circulation pump motor either won't spin, is drawing wrong current, or its tachometer feedback is missing. No or weak wash spray.
Symptoms
- Quiet cycle with no spray
- Dishes come out untouched
- Humming from under the tub
- Cycle takes much longer than usual
Common Causes
Open winding or seized impeller.
Glass, toothpick, or olive pit blocking rotation.
Variable-speed pumps driven by board electronics.
Burn or open in the pump's high-current connector.
How to Fix It
- Power off at the breaker.
- Remove the spray arms, filters, and sump cover; inspect the pump impeller through the sump opening.
- Clear any debris from the impeller area and rotate it by hand — it should spin freely.
- Pull the kickplate and inspect the circulation pump harness for burn marks or loose connectors.
- If the pump won't run in Service Diagnostics and wiring is good, replace the circulation pump motor (heavier job — usually pull the unit out).
- After repair, verify both spray arms produce strong flow on a Normal cycle.
