How to fix it

  1. Verify the water supply valve under the sink is fully open.
  2. Inspect the fill hose for kinks behind the dishwasher.
  3. Shut off water, disconnect fill hose at the valve, and clean the inlet screen.
  4. Test that water flow at the supply line fills a quart container in under 10 seconds.
  5. If supply is good, suspect the inlet valve or case/float switch.

Why it happens

Typical signs: 1C on display · Won't begin wash · Stops within minutes of starting · No fill sound

  • Closed or partially closed water supply Angle stop not fully open.
  • Clogged inlet screen Sediment blocking fill rate.
  • Faulty inlet valve Solenoid weak — opens but flow is restricted.
  • Case/float switch stuck up Falsely reports tub full so valve won't energize fully.
