How to fix it

  1. Lower the household water heater setpoint to 120°F (49°C) — the recommended setting for both safety and dishwasher specs.
  2. Run a cold-water rinse or wait an hour for plumbing to cool, then restart the dishwasher.
  3. If you have an instant recirculation loop, verify the supply line to the dishwasher is correct.
  4. If the code returns with water under 140°F at the tap, replace the inlet temperature sensor.
