Samsung Dishwasher 7E / 7C — Waterwall reflector fault

Samsung Dishwasher · Error code 7E

What 7E Means

On Waterwall models the reflector (the moving spray bar on the back wall) is not moving as expected. Often a packing or installation issue on new units.

Symptoms

  • 7E or 7C on display
  • Reflector not moving during cycle
  • Poor wash on one side
  • Cycle aborts early

Common Causes

1
Shipping packing tape/foam still on reflector

Common with brand-new dishwashers — installer missed the packing.

2
Reflector off track or jammed

Dish or utensil hanging through the lower rack blocked travel.

3
Failed reflector motor

Drive motor open winding or gearbox stripped.

4
Failed position sensor

Hall sensor on reflector drive not reporting position.

How to Fix It

  1. Remove the lower rack and inspect the back-wall reflector — pull off any shipping tape, foam blocks, or packaging.
  2. Slide the reflector left and right by hand — it should move smoothly the full width.
  3. Look for utensils or dropped items wedging the reflector.
  4. Reinstall the rack making sure nothing hangs through the bottom.
  5. Run Self Clean — if 7E returns, service the reflector drive motor / sensor.
