Samsung Microwave C-E1 — Door / Interlock Switch Fault

Samsung Microwave · Error code C-E1

What C-E1 Means

The control sees inconsistent signals from the door interlock switches (monitor + primary + secondary). The microwave will not start as a safety lockout.

Symptoms

  • C-E1 on display
  • Microwave won't start with door closed
  • Sometimes blown line fuse after door close

Common Causes

1
Worn or failed interlock switch

One of the door switches no longer changes state when the door closes.

2
Misaligned door latch

Latch hooks don't fully depress the switch plungers.

3
Sagging door hinge

Door drops over time; latch no longer lines up with switches.

4
Bad wiring to interlock harness

Spade terminal corroded or loose.

How to Fix It

  1. Unplug the microwave and discharge the high-voltage capacitor before working near the door switches.
  2. Open the control housing and locate the 3 door interlock switches.
  3. Operate the door by hand and listen for all switches clicking; visually verify the latch hits each plunger.
  4. Test each switch with a multimeter for proper continuity change (NO/NC) when actuated.
  5. Replace any switch that fails the continuity test (OEM equivalent).
  6. Realign door/latch board if door has sagged.
