bE — / bE2 — Stuck button or sensor fault (model-dependent)

bE / bE2 is model-dependent on Samsung washers. On many models it is a button (key) error — the control senses a panel button held down or stuck, often a physical stuck key or moisture under the membrane. On other models the same code is a sensor fault (a MEMS/motion or motor-speed sensor). Check your model number against the Samsung error-code page before replacing parts.

The fix

User interface / control panel assembly

Button error - stuck control panel button

$80-180 moderate difficulty 45 min Tools: screwdriver

Diagnose first: Unplug for 5 minutes first - sometimes clears. Persistent code means a button is physically stuck or the membrane has failed.

How to fix it

  1. Unplug the washer for 5 minutes.
  2. Wipe the control panel dry and press each button — note any that feel mushy or stuck.
  3. Remove the top panel and inspect the back of the control board for moisture or corrosion.
  4. Let any damp board air-dry 24 hours before reassembly.
  5. Replace the user interface (touch) board if a specific button is dead or perma-stuck.
  6. If the dedicated UI board didn't help, replace the main control PCB.

Why it happens

Typical signs: bE appears at power-on or after a button press · Touch panel unresponsive · One key feels squishy or stuck

  • Stuck/damaged touch button Cracked or sticky button keeps signaling pressed.
  • Moisture intrusion under the control panel Spilled detergent or steam wicks under the membrane.
  • Failed user interface board Sensor board itself faults.
  • MEMS / motion or motor-speed sensor fault (sensor-variant models) On models where bE/bE2 is a sensor code, the fault is in the motion/vibration or motor-speed sensor, not a button — confirm against your model before ordering a UI board.
