Ur — / Ub — Unbalanced load
The washer cannot balance the load for the final spin. Ur (top-load) or Ub (front-load) appears when drum vibration exceeds safe limits. The machine adds water and tries to redistribute clothes.

How to fix it
- Pause and manually redistribute laundry evenly around the drum.
- Add 2-3 similar-weight items if washing a single bulky piece.
- Use a bubble level on the top of the washer — adjust feet and lock the jam nuts.
- Run a Rinse+Spin to test.
- If Ur persists with balanced loads on a level machine, replace suspension rods (top-load) or shock absorbers (front-load) as a set.
Why it happens
Typical signs: Spin cycle never reaches full speed · Clothes still soaking wet at end · Loud thumping during spin attempts
- Lopsided load Heavy item (towel, rug, jeans) bunched on one side.
- Too few or too many items A single bulky item or a packed drum prevents redistribution.
- Washer not level Uneven feet cause the tub to ride asymmetrically.
- Worn suspension rods or shock absorbers Tub no longer self-centers — common after 6+ years.
