F3E3 — OWI Calibration Failure / Bad Check Valve
The Optical Water Indicator failed its self-calibration, often because dirty wash water from the drain hose is backflowing into the tub through a failed drain hose check valve.

How to fix it
- Confirm the drain hose has a proper high loop secured to the underside of the countertop, or is connected above the disposer trap (min 20" above floor).
- Remove the filter and clean the OWI sensor lens in the sump with a soft cloth and white vinegar.
- Inspect the drain hose check valve at the sump outlet for debris and free movement; replace if damaged.
- Run a hot empty cycle with a dishwasher cleaner.
- If F3E3 returns, replace the OWI sensor assembly.
