Keurig Won't Turn On — Quick Fixes
A Keurig that won't power on or has a frozen screen is almost always a power hiccup or a software glitch — both fixable in a couple minutes before you consider replacing it.
1. Check Power
Plug it directly into a wall outlet, not a power strip (Keurigs draw a lot on heat-up and can trip strips). Test the outlet with another device and check the breaker/GFCI. Make sure the cord is fully seated at both ends.
2. Do a Hard Reset
Turn the machine off and unplug it for 5 minutes. While unplugged, open and close the lever a few times. Plug it back in and power on. This clears most frozen-screen and won't-start glitches.
3. Reseat the Water Reservoir
Some models won't operate if the reservoir isn't detected. Remove it, make sure the magnet/sensor area is clean, and seat it firmly back in place.
4. Frozen "Not Ready" or Stuck on Preheat
If it powers on but never gets ready, it may be air-locked or scaled up. Refill the reservoir, reseat it, and run a water-only brew. If it heats but won't brew, descale it.
