How to fix it

  1. Press Start to resume the cycle or Cancel to clear the code.
  2. Check the home breaker for the dryer — reset fully off then on.
  3. Inspect the power cord at the back of the dryer; tighten the three terminal screws after unplugging.
  4. Check the outlet with a multimeter for steady 240V (L1-L2) and 120V on each leg to neutral.
  5. If PF appears with no outage occurring, replace the main electronic control board.

Why it happens

Typical signs: PF flashes on display after a power outage · Cycle stopped mid-run · Dryer beeps until acknowledged

  • Brief power outage or brownout Most common cause — utility blip or breaker trip interrupted the cycle.
  • Loose power cord connection Cord terminals at the dryer block or outlet not fully seated, especially after install or move.
  • Tripped or weak breaker 240V breaker partially tripped — one leg dropped out momentarily.
  • Failed control board If PF recurs with no actual outage, the main control may be misreading line voltage.
