How to fix it

  1. Open the door and redistribute the load evenly around the drum.
  2. For very small or single-item loads, add a few more items to balance.
  3. Place a level on top of the washer; adjust the leveling feet so it sits flat.
  4. Check all four feet for firm contact with the floor.
  5. If shaking persists with a balanced load, inspect tub shocks and springs.
  6. Replace shock absorbers in pairs if worn or oil-leaking.

Why it happens

Typical signs: Excessive shaking during spin · Clothes come out very wet · Washer 'walks' across floor · Cycle ends without full spin

  • Single heavy item in drum Comforter, jeans, or rug bunched on one side.
  • Small load not redistributable Only 1-2 items can't be balanced automatically.
  • Washer not level Uneven feet allow excessive movement.
  • Failed shock absorbers Worn dampers can't control tub motion.
  • Broken suspension spring Tub sags, hits cabinet at higher RPM.
