How to Fix It

  1. Clean the lint filter.
  2. Disconnect the vent at the back of the dryer and run a short test cycle — if AF clears, the vent is the problem.
  3. Snake a vent brush through the full duct run to the exterior.
  4. Check the exterior vent hood flap for easy movement and remove any lint nest.
  5. If vent is clear and AF persists, remove rear panel and inspect the blower wheel for cracks or slippage on the motor shaft.
  6. Replace blower wheel if it spins independently of the motor shaft.
