E11 — Cycle taking too long

The main electronic control board lost communication with the user interface (display) board. The dryer usually won't start or respond to controls until the boards re-establish communication.

How to fix it

  1. Unplug the dryer for 5 minutes to reset both boards, then retry the cycle.
  2. Remove the top/console panel and reseat the wire harness between the user interface board and the main control board at both ends.
  3. Inspect connector pins for corrosion, bent pins, or broken locking tabs; clean or repair as needed.
  4. If E11 returns, replace the user interface board first (more commonly at fault).
  5. If the code persists after the UI board, replace the main electronic control board.

Why it happens

Typical signs: E11 at end of long cycle · Clothes damp at cycle end · Dryer runs but doesn't fully dry

  • Loose wire harness between boards The connector between the user interface board and main control board backs out from vibration.
  • Corroded or damaged connector pins Humidity in the laundry area corrodes harness contacts and interrupts the data line.
  • Failed user interface board The UI board stops answering on the communication bus.
  • Failed main electronic control board The comm circuit on the main board no longer drives the bus.
