How to fix it

  1. Unplug the refrigerator for 5 minutes and restore power to clear transient faults.
  2. If code returns, unplug again and inspect harness from UI board (top of fresh-food door or top of unit) to main board (back panel).
  3. Reseat all connectors at both ends.
  4. Inspect ribbon cable for kinks, cuts, or corrosion at the hinge.
  5. Replace the wiring harness if damaged.
  6. If harness is good, replace the user interface board first (less expensive).
  7. If SY CF persists, replace the main control board.
