GE Dishwasher PF — Power Failure
GE Dishwasher · Error code PF
What PF Means
PF means the dishwasher lost AC power mid-cycle and is alerting you that the run was interrupted. The dishwasher is fine; it just wants acknowledgment.
Symptoms
- PF flashing on display after a storm or breaker trip
- Cycle did not complete
- Display reset to clock or blank
Common Causes
Utility interruption or voltage sag while a cycle was running.
Branch circuit tripped from another load on the same circuit.
Wire nuts at the dishwasher junction box backed off and momentarily lost contact.
How to Fix It
- Press Start/Reset to clear PF.
- Re-select the cycle and press Start; verify it runs to completion.
- If PF returns with no known outage, check the breaker and any shared outlet (often shares with disposal).
- Kill power at the breaker and inspect the under-sink junction box for loose wire nuts or burned conductors.
- If recurring on a clean circuit, install a UPS-quality surge protector rated for the appliance.
