GE Dishwasher Sanitized Light Off / Not Sanitized
GE Dishwasher · Error code Sanitized LED Off
What Sanitized LED Off Means
When a sanitize cycle finishes and the 'Sanitized' indicator does NOT illuminate, the dishwasher could not maintain NSF/ANSI 184 final-rinse temperature (~150°F).
Symptoms
- Sanitized LED stays off after a sanitize cycle
- Cycle ran to completion
- Inlet water feels lukewarm at the sink
Common Causes
Water heater set too low or long supply run lost heat.
Element resistance drifted high; water heats slowly.
Long undersink supply line filled with cold water at start of cycle.
How to Fix It
- Set water heater to 120°F minimum (recommended).
- Run hot water at the kitchen sink for 30 seconds before starting the dishwasher.
- Ohm the heating element; replace if reading is high or open.
- Avoid running a major hot-water load (shower, washer) at the same time.
