Why it happens

Typical signs: Sb on display · Interior lights stay off when doors open · Dispenser disabled · No icemaker cycle while active

  • Sabbath mode intentionally enabled Activated via a multi-button combo specific to the model.
  • Accidental button combo Easy to hit while cleaning the dispenser pad.

Replace your water filter

A clogged or overdue water filter is a common cause of low water and ice flow on GE refrigerators — they are meant to be changed about every 6 months. The OEM-style filter that fits most GE refrigerators is the XWF ($45-55 OEM, $18-28 compatible).
