F7E1 — Evaporator Fan Motor Fault

The evaporator fan in the freezer compartment is not running at the commanded RPM or is reporting zero feedback. Cooling distribution suffers.

How to fix it

  1. Unplug refrigerator and remove the freezer rear panel.
  2. Check for ice buildup on the evaporator coil and fan — manually defrost with a hair dryer if needed.
  3. Verify the fan blade spins freely by hand.
  4. Reseat the fan harness connector.
  5. Power up — if fan does not run on demand, replace the evaporator fan motor.
  6. If a new motor still trips F7E1, suspect the main control board.
