dE2 — Door closed but won't lock

How to fix it

1. Open the door, remove some laundry if the drum is more than 3/4 full, and check the gasket for trapped items.
2. Close the door firmly with a deliberate push and listen for the lock click.
3. If no click, unplug the washer for 1 minute, restore power, and try again.
4. Inspect the latch tongue for bending or chipping — replace the latch if visibly damaged.
5. Remove the lower kick panel and reseat the harness on the door lock assembly.
6. If dE2 persists, replace the door lock/switch assembly.
7. If the new lock still throws dE2, the main control board is suspect.
